David P. Gushee

David P. Gushee is a Distinguished University Professor of Christian Ethics at Mercer University, the chair of Christian Social Ethics at Vrije Universiteit (Free University) Amsterdam, and a Senior Research Fellow at the International Baptist Theological Study Centre. He is the elected former president of both the American Academy of Religion and the Society of Christian Ethics. Dr. Gushee is the author, coauthor, or editor of twenty-eight books, including the bestsellers Kingdom Ethics (Eerdmans, 2016) and Changing Our Mind (Read the Spirit Books, 2017). His other most notable works are Still Christian (Westminster John Knox Press, 2017), After Evangelicalism (Westminster John Knox Press, 2020), Righteous Gentiles of the Holocaust (Paragon House, 2003), and Defending Democracy from Its Christian Enemies (Eerdmans, 2023).

With his works read around the world, and an active lecturing schedule on several continents, he has a global impact in the field of Christian ethics. A leader in the growing post-evangelical movement, he has also put feet to his faith in several activist campaigns.

Gushee and his wife, Jeanie, live in Atlanta, Georgia.
